The exceptional plants of Madagascar
in the service of beauty!

The exceptional climate of Madagascar allows it to welcome and grow plants from all kinds of continents. Composed of dry lands, marshes, wooded meadows and humid forests, this island offers all types of climates and soils, allowing vegetation to flourish there.

At Comptoir des Huiles, we help to raise awareness and protect the riches of Madagascar. By promoting local vegetation and the work of farmers, we help preserve the island from deforestation!

Native plants of Madagascar

The archipelago has a wide variety of plants naturally present on its land; like the Moringa Drouhardii (opposite) on the dry lands of the south, or the Ximenia discovered at the beginning of the 20th century. These plants have revealed all the richness of their benefits, through nourishing, soothing and restorative oils.

The emblems of the archipelago

The Baobab is the emblematic tree of Madagascar, of the 8 existing species on the planet, 6 of them are present on the island. Its ultra-nourishing properties make it a daily ally for dry skin!

You have surely already seen this tree with its leaves forming a majestic fan… it is the Ravenala , also called the “traveler’s tree”. Thanks to the particular shape of the base of its leaves, water nestles there, providing a source of water to travelers. More than a symbol of the island, this majestic tree has become the emblem of Comptoir des Huiles.

You can find it everywhere on our packaging!
